A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO THE SELECTION OF ART

Applied Neuroaesthetics is a hub for creatives and researchers in the field of neuroaesthetics (and empirical aesthetics in general) to meet and exchange ideas and information. Here you will find an ongoing lineup of discussions, webinars and inspiring dialogue that seeks to define and explore the growing need to see art from a scientific perspective.

THE COMMISSION PROJECT

CULTIVATING SCIENCE + ART

Artists, architects, interior designers, curators, AI engineers, and anyone in the arts who seeks to explore the emotional responses and sensorial input art invariably causes, through the lens of science.

SENSORIAL ASPECT

Our senses help us navigate our physical world. External stimuli trigger neurophysiological processes that help us interpret the incoming information. All humans more or less share these same responses to move about effectively in our environments.

EMOTIONAL ASPECT

Our emotional makeup plays a significant role in our esthetic response. The physical input from the outside world will trigger emotional responses that vary from person to person, and that draw from our individual histories, experiences, and interpretations.

COGNITIVE ASPECT

Our empirical understanding, governed by our cumulative life experiences, aids us in our successful navigation of the world around us. Thus, the cognitive aspect of our esthetic experience is heavily influenced by our level of knowledge, perspective, and relationship with the subject at hand.

“There are no secrets in science.”
